STORY: Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. It follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a high school student with exceptional physical abilities. After the death of his grandfather, Yuji joins his school's Occult Club for fun and to honor his grandfather's last wish of helping people. One day, the Occult Club members come across a cursed object containing a powerful Cursed Spirit named Ryomen Sukuna, a legendary and malevolent being. When Yuji's friends inadvertently unleash Sukuna's curse, they are attacked by other Cursed Spirits. In a desperate attempt to protect his friends, Yuji consumes one of Sukuna's cursed fingers to harness some of his power. This act, however, makes him a host to Sukuna's malevolence and draws the attention of jujutsu sorcerers. Satoru Gojo, a sorcerer from the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, arrives to exorcise Sukuna. Upon seeing Yuji's bravery and potential, Gojo decides to enroll him in the school to become a jujutsu sorcerer. Yuji reluctantly agrees, entering the world of curses and sorcery to protect innocent people from malevolent Cursed Spirits. At the Tokyo Jujutsu High, Yuji befriends Megumi Fushiguro, a serious and reserved student with a special ability to summon and control shikigami, and Nobara Kugisaki, a strong-willed girl who wields a cursed hammer and nails. Together, they embark on various missions to exorcise dangerous Cursed Spirits and collect Sukuna's scattered fingers to prevent further disaster. Throughout the series, Yuji faces numerous challenges, battles powerful curses, and encounters other jujutsu sorcerers with their unique techniques. He becomes determined to protect humanity from the curses' threats while also struggling with the malevolent presence of Sukuna inside him. As the story progresses, more mysteries about Cursed Spirits, jujutsu sorcery, and the origin of Sukuna's curse are revealed. The series delves into themes of friendship, sacrifice, morality, and the darkness within human hearts.
